ELM 327 conversion adapter to work with Ford cars
ELM 327 why modification is needed:
When connected to ford, you can see the following picture:
The adapter is unable to connect to the ECU
Why is this happening:
The Chinese did not correctly implement the part that is responsible for working with the PWM protocol in the version of elm 327 that you purchased. This can be solved, more on that below.
Transistor Q5 is installed (corresponds to T5 on the Chinese adapter), so the board tracks cross each other and the T5 emitter is shorted to the middle leg of U4 (317L) see diagram
What needs to be done (ELM 327 adapter conversion):
- Open Adapter 🙂 ;
- Find transistor T5;
For example, a variant of the adapter housing in the connector:
- It is necessary to solder the wire to the soldered emitter of the transistor, and connect the other end of the wire to ground;
